THE OREGON PARKS CODES HAVE POTENTIALLY BEEN SOLVED!

My friend @trickengf and JimBag_777 on Twitter solved the codes by aligning the known runes with potential letters

Huge congrats to these two for solving it and to everyone who gave it a crack. We're not 100% certain yet but these do seem to be real enough sentences to fit the Gravity Falls vibe the Book of Bill has going for it.

#listen. in order to enjoy detective conan you need to either be #1. obsessed with a very specific very japanese brand of detective drama and an equally specific equally japanese brand of slowburn romance #OR 2. a clinically insane fujoshi willing to overlook half-brother incest.#i have an actual literal chart in order to keep track of the character relationships at this point #and i havent even read the manga in a while so im sure its worse now #like half of the cases are either realistically impossible to solve or so fundamentally ridiculous it makes you insane #and another 20% are completely unitelligible to an english audience #because they rely on either codes based on the japanese language or some niche aspect of japanese culture or folklore #that would take several hours of research to fully understand. i know this from experience.#at least one CANONICAL couple are cousins #and it does that shounen manga thing where the author cant lose their steady income stream #so the story is prolonged through increasingly insane and convoluted plot points that only just barely feel coherent.#despite the fact that it's been going for like 30 years now the characters will literally never change or experience growth of any kind #shinichi kudo is an in-universe genius who has been trying and failing to make the same easy decision for THIRTY REAL LIFE YEARS.#i remember when he and ran FINALLY got together. which if i remember correctly was in literally the thousandth chapter #i was completely convinced up until the end of the arc that it was some sort of fakeout #because it is literally the only example in the entire series of those two changing the narrative significantly through their actions #I actually stopped my most recent reread because a major plot twist made so little sense it made me legitimately angry #all that being said. i am the kind of person who enjoys japanese detective dramas and slowburn romance #occasionally the comedy is REALLY good in a ridiculous sort of way #and if you can get yourself to fully buy into the absolutely insane framing circumstances a lot of the major overarching plot is good #but you just. you really have to overlook A LOT to get there. im not sure if i could do it if i hadn't seen the first few seasons as a kid #unfortunately i imprinted on shinichi kudo at a very young age. so. here we are #asks

currently extra emo about pynch immediately post-trk. freshly re-traumatized and grieving; unspeakably sad about each of their personal and joint losses and yet unspeakably happy about what they've saved and what they've gained with each other; abruptly burdened by their respective responsibilities (school - opal - college applications - the future as a whole menacing concept) with no time to process; stumbling headlong into a serious relationship ab ovo with no communication skills to speak of and quite frankly an abysmal track record with letting others in and sharing vulnerabilities and leaning on people for support.

they're teenage boys and also they're mentally scarred all over but also they love each other so much, it's all very foreboding. they save gansey and then adam goes back to school and ronan drops out of school and somewhere between november and summer break they have to learn how to talk to each other without anger boiling over as a defense mechanism and how to share their most painful memories and dreams and fears without running away on instinct and how to handle adam's physicality issues and ronan's alcohol issues. but also how to do normal, teenaged relationship things like not be awkward about sex and pda and being queer in a small southern town and how to manage that universal desire to spend literally every single moment together alongside the fear that the other person is getting sick of them, and how to tell people they're together without it becoming a Thing, even though in high school it's always, always a Thing. and during all of that adam has to get into an absurd number of ivy league schools while working multiple jobs and ronan has to dream a new cabeswater and semi-parent a child and they both have to face repercussions of losing cabeswater and it's all so, so much. truly, that gaping hole before the epilogue haunts me in my sleep.

#pynch #trc #it always punches me in the face how truly blusey-coded the timefreaming of trc is #as it should - it's ostensibly their story #and clearly it was all constructed to leave a huge backdoor for a separate ronan-centered series #but it's so stark how trk ends with blusey's intentionally fairytailed ending (the lifting of a curse and a happily ever after)#while pynch are left with entirely loose ends and so much left to solve #it's not BAD it's just different and thought provoking and also HAUNTING #don't give me teenaged otps unless you're willing to face my demands to see them hit every rock on the road to mature open communication #that will make a long lasting adult relationship actually sustainable #v:text

Break Up Service Colors

I watched The Warp Effect for Joong and ended up loving it, so I'm going to watch Break Up Service for the chance to catch a glimpse of Junior, but I might as well enjoy some colors while I wait around.

Jued appears to be an energetic and chaotic Yellow Yal.

But she is trying to level up and become a responsible Brown Beauty.

It's not going well.

To say the least.

She is Pride & Prejudice's Charlotte Lucas and has no money and no prospects. She is already a burden to her parents, and she is frightened. So don’t judge her, Boss. Don’t you dare judge her!

But maybe the show's story will be one of a Yellow Yal realizing she is good just as she is!

And Boss will be just the man to love her as she is!

Boss seems to be a Red Rascal.

He's good at playing the devil when it comes to breaking up relationships.

And even better at committing to the bit.

So even when he tries to clean up his act, he still has some red hidden underneath.

Other times, it's hard to tell what his true color is because his red is so dark, like with this deep red velvet suit.

But the thing about Boss is that he actually feels like a Black Brooder with some secrets of his own, and that the job is what makes him red.

He is very good at it.

Which is something he continues to remind the audience.

But maybe he'll realize how much the job has changed him into a devil once he sees the changes it does to someone else.

Like a once optimistic and lively Yellow Yal.

So he might begin to see how much different he is from the people he works with and how much that has affected his outlook on life.

But, then again, he could be bi-colored.

So even if I'm not sure of his actual color with only one episode aired,

I'm sure he will love this Yellow Yal for her true color.

And find something else to commit to beyond the bit.
